Guess what we did on Saturday? Yep, finally got our tomato juice made.
Chris and Patti came over at about 9am. After about half an hour of "discussing" what we were going to do, we got started. We were all smiles here, thinking we would be done in a couple of hours.
Brian and Chris ran all the tomatoes through grinders first.
This was Chris's first time with any canning experience. Here he is running the cooked tomatoes through that funnel thing with the holes in it. (I don't know the name of it)
Don't they look good hard at work? Patti and I really did help, honest.
Now this is a "man's" way of canning. No stovetop for them.
We decided to make salsa too. Brian went and got onions from the garden and here he is grinding them up too. You can't tell in the picture but those onions were kicking his butt!
Why are there so many dirty dishes? I think we ran through 20 sink loads of slimy tomatoey dishes.
Since we just weren't busy enough, let's make dilly beans too!
In between batches Patti made Chris a birthday cake. Kylee helped as usual. Here they are being silly with the cool whip.
Did I mention the mess?
Finally, taking a break while the last couple batches are boiling.
Here's how Patti felt about the whole day.
Finally done......8 hours later. Time for some relaxation.

Flashback Friday
This Flashback picture was taken many years ago on a day when we took the kids into the woods for some fall pictures. I guess we didn't believe in getting them dressed very nice for pictures back then. Their everyday hand me downs were good enough. We have a lot of pictures from this day but I thought this one fit this bunch the best. From left to right: Tracy, Tabby, Andy, Melissa, Kari, and Joni. Go visit their blogs to see how beautiful they all are today.

Flashback Friday
I have always loved this picture. We grew up on a Dairy farm here in Wisconsin. If I remember correctly, Dad and Mom were gone this night and us kids ended up doing the milking. I don't think it really took this many of us to get the job done. There were six of our family, (I took the picture) and three extras. I have no idea what year this was but aren't we stylin?

Five Forever Friends
The last 24 hours have been a blast! When I was in High School I had a group of friends that we did everything together. After we graduated we all started new lives with the men in our lives. Three of us have children, two do not. One of us moved to Florida, the rest of us stayed here in Wisconsin. Actually, three of us still live in the same town we grew up in. Even though we all have our separate lives, we try to keep in touch once a year. We took many more pictures than these. It was hard to pick a few.
We can get together and it is like we never were apart.
I think we all look pretty good for being 45 years old. Sorry girls, I just said your age.
I love these girls............thanks for a great time!

MckLinky Blog Hop - Favorite Recipe
We have so many favorite recipes that it is always hard to choose. I chose Swedish Meatballs because it is one of our family favorites. Hope you enjoy. They are really easy to make and are made with ingredients most of us have in our kitchen.
Swedish Meatballs:
1 1/2 cups soft bread crumbs
3/4 cup milk
2 T onion
4 T butter
1 pound lean ground beef
1 t salt
1/4 t nutmeg
1/2 t pepper
1 egg
1/4 cup flour
2 cans cream of mushroom soup
Soak bread crumbs in milk. Saute onion in butter; add to bread crumbs. Combine beef, seasonings, egg, and bread crumb mixture. Form the mixture into balls. Roll in flour. Melt butter in pan and saute the meatballs. Put one can of soup in the bottom of a 9 x9 pan. Put meatballs on top then put the second can of soup on top. Bake for 1 hour at 250*.
We serve them over buttered noodles. You can also use rice or mashed potatoes. Enjoy.

A Random Picture and An Uneventful Weekend
I had a very uneventful weekend, therefore not much to write about. Saturday I still had a headache and spent most of the day resting. On Sunday I got up for church but my headache told me I wasn't going. Now I was also sick to my stomach. After many Tylenol I felt some relief.
Tracy and I then went to the mall, looking for shoes for the wedding. I found a pair on Ebay but thought I would check the mall first. No luck again! I will order the ones online. I think maybe I have learned my lesson. Just order what you like online then go to the mall just for fun. That sounds like a plan to me.
Happy Monday everyone. I'm off to the chiropractor. Enough of this headache stuff!

Tucyr Tuesday at the Pool
Last Tuesday, we decided to take Tucyr Tuesdays to the pool. The kids really enjoy running in and out of the baby pool. Amy and I thought about going in the big pool, but then we realized that meant that we would have to put our suits on and swim too. Yeah, maybe not.
Felicity checkin' out the water...brrrrrr.....
Mr. Mylo (my Godchild) is loving the water.
My precious princess.
My best friend, Amy, getting Mylo to sleep.
