More Critters

I bought this window feeder for the hummingbirds a couple months ago. When I first put it out they were hitting it pretty hard. Then they were actually gone for about a month. I kept changing the juice weekly just in case they would come back. They came back about a week ago and now they are absolutely nuts! I've had to fill this feeder every day lately and yesterday I had to fill it twice. Last night there were nine of these little guys fighting for the two spots on the feeder. We have two other feeders in the yard but they like this one the most. It's pretty cool because we can stand right by the window and watch them up close.

Why do they fight with each other so much? They will actually land on each other and peck at him to get them off the perch.

An Unwanted Visitor

We've had a cute, but unwanted visitor around our house lately.
When we get up in the morning we usually find him somewhere around the yard.

Why is he unwanted you ask?
That purple shrub right behind him currently has no leaves left on it!

He's not really afraid of us when we take pictures of him.
The other day Brian and his brother were sitting on the back patio talking about the little guy and he decided to make an appearance right then and there while they were talking about him.
I think he likes the attention.

He makes himself at home anywhere.

But he is NAUGHTY!

I posted a picture of him on Facebook
and I got lots of good tips to make him go away.
We bought some powder stuff and sprinkled it all around our flowers and shrubs.
So far that has worked.

The Wait is Over

Felicity has been waiting for quite some time now to get her ears pierced. The day finally came on Friday. She was so happy that Daddy was there to hold her for the big moment.

And of course Kylee was there to hold her hand.
(She had just gotten her ears pierced in March)

 All ready.
1.....2.....3.......SNAP!

 That was NOT fun!

But it is a price you pay for beauty.

Felicity turns 3 tomorrow. How does that happen?
Happy early Birthday to our little Princess...

Little Best Friends and a Bad Decision

Kylee, Kirsten and Jordy

Kylee (the little girl I daycare for) had her two best friends over for some summer fun.
The weather was gorgeous and the giggles were plenty.

They spent hours and hours going down the slide.

And SCREAMING all the way down.....EVERY time.

Isn't this a great shot? I love it.

Finally a "calmer" photo of all three.

I hope they stay best friends forever.
They spent a lot of time laughing and having the time of their lives!

and now for the BAD decision......

Even if the directions say the huge blow up slide will hold up to 400 lbs........

It bends and tips when any amount of weight is near the edge!
Making it EXTREMELY hard to maneuver around up there.
And when someone tips over and can't get back up....
Someone else doesn't help but grabs the camera.

Eventually "a larger than a child" person can get back up
and in the right position to go down the slide.

And be super happy that this whole event is finally over.
Lesson Learned.
THE END

Sprinkler Fun

What do we do on hot summer days without a pool?  We get out the sprinkler and have some fun!         ...
