Flashback Friday

This photo cracks me up! We went on a vacation to Wisconsin Dells. It looks like I was NOT going to put my arm around this old guy, where Patti was sure fine with it. What cracks me up the most is our clothes. What ARE we wearing anyway? Plaids, prints, polka dots, ruffles, AND flowers! Oh my!

Silly Sisters

Whenever my two sisters and I are together we try to take some pictures. We have to stick together, we grew up with 5 brothers! So first let's just get a "nice" picture.

Things went downhill from there..... I don't know what is going on here. Patti is hiding with her leg out and for some reason I am trying to get Deb to do the same. I think she thinks I am nuts!

Come on....I'm reaching as far as I can...

There....now what?

Let's do a serious old time photo. Do we look stiff and serious?

The planning continues......I don't think Patti likes the idea!

Ok. This one is easy. Charlie's Angels pose of course...

Gotta have fun right? That's what keeps us Grandma's so young.

Flashback Friday

I don't know where to start with this picture. It confuses me. In the picture: Me, my cousin Connie, and my sister Patti.

Let's start with me. The huge flowered "thing" I am wearing, the hat, and the huge sunglasses. What? Then there's Connie. That lovely orange hat, I think the red shirt she has on is stuffed, and of course....the Qtip mustache. And finally Patti. I guess if you can't find anything else....just tie some pajamas around your head. A person had to entertain yourself back then, no cable TV, computers, or cell phones.

I would say we were playing "dress up" but I think we are a bit old for that! I just honestly can't even explain. I'm guessing this was taken around 1977. We were at my sister Deb's apartment. I was going to crop the photo a bit but I had to leave the awesome carpet and paneling in the picture. We loved to go there because it was so cool to hang out there without our parents. Since we lived out in the country on a farm where there wasn't much to do, it was always fun to go there and run around the streets of the city. Deb always told mom that she was "watching" us but I think she was too busy partying to even know where we were half the time. (sorry for telling on you Deb)

I guess you can say we were weird (I do), but we sure had a lot of fun!

The Bride and Groom

Since I am sharing more of the photos from the wedding, I figured I should show off the bride and groom. This was hard to pick just a few.

So Tired

We finally got all the pictures from Andy and Casey's wedding. I wish I could show you all 1200 of them.

This is one of my favorites. It was taken as I was telling her good bye as she was going home with the sitter for the night. After 12 hours of primping and pictures and playing..........she is done.

100 Followers Giveaway

I am so excited about this giveaway. About 9 months ago my mom introduced me to a ministry she is involved with in our community. She meets once a month with a group of ladies to make "prayer shawls." I decided right then that I was going to start making them.

This fall when one of my best friends came over she was telling me about how her mother-in-law was fighting cancer. I gave her one of my shawls and told her to give it to her mother-in-law for when she felt she needed some prayers. It felt good to give her a little bit of comfort.

They are not only for people who are sick, but for anyone that you want to let them know that you are praying for them. For instance: new mothers, newly married, or any other reason you choose. My mom calls them "Angel Hugs." I think that is a perfect name for them.

So for my 100 followers giveaway, I have chosen one of my prayer shawls. Feel free to keep it for yourself or give it to someone you know that needs your prayers and "hugs."

I've added a couple extra goodies to go with it. A 100 Favorite Bible Verses book, a keychain that says "faith & grace" on it, and a prayer stone that reads: Grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

What does it take to win you ask? Very simple.

Rub your tummy while patting your head, and with your foot behind your head.....say the ABCs backwards.

I told you it would be easy. (send me a pic of you doing that please)

No, for real.....Just be a follower of my blog (have to keep it in the family) and leave me some lovin' in a comment.

I will pick a winner on Wednesday night at 9pm central time, and announce the winner on Thursday the 14th. Good luck and thanks for being my Bloggy friends.

Meet Jack

Yesterday my son and daughter-in-law went to have a 3D ultrasound done.
Oh my goodness!

He even gave a big smile for the camera. I can tell he was thinking about me rocking him....right? That's what grandma's are for.

I just can't believe it is getting down to the time for him to come and meet all of us. Why is it that when you are not the one pregnant that the time goes so fast?

A few weeks ago I helped Casey paint Jack's room. I wish I had some pictures, it is so cute. I actually was quite creative. We took his new blanket, photocopied the different animals on it, printed off a copy and traced them on the wall. After they were all painted it actually looks just like his blanket.

Some of Casey's family went together and got the nursery furniture. The baby cribs (at both grandma's homes too) are all set up ready for Jack to lay down his precious head for a nap.

I'm glad you visited today to get a sneak peak at our newest grandson. How cool is that?
