How is Everyone Doing?

The Time Has Come

Today Andy & Casey left for their new adventure. I am so glad that they get to share this together. Like I said before, it is scary for me but very exciting also.

There they go, off to Minneapolis. They will be loading on Friday and headed for Florida. Casey was pretty excited about that. She has never been there. Even though they will be working when they get there they will get to enjoy the warm weather. Good luck to them and because I am the Mom I can say: "Stay Safe"

Another Great Day

We went for another ride. This time we went with Pete & Joan. We rode to Tomahawk to the big car show. There sure were a lot of cars. They kind of all look alike after a while.

We stopped for a break at a wayside. The weather was beautiful but the gnats were not.

This was right as they were going to take their exit to go home. We had a great time.

On our way home we saw these two basking in the sun. They sat there for quite a while so we could take some pictures. This is where a fancy camera with a zoom lens would be great. I think my little point and shoot did alright.

After we got home we changed and headed over to Ken & Sue's for a bon fire. The mosquitoes were a little crazy. We tried the Listerine in a spray bottle. We aren't sure if it worked, but we sure smelled minty fresh.

Casey really hates mosquitoes.

First Bike Ride of the Season

We went for our first ride for the year. Still a little chilly for this fair weather rider. I am not a die hard ride in the rain and cold rider. I love to ride, but it still needs to be 80 degreees.

It is a little difficult to take our picture while going 60 miles an hour down the highway. My arm is not long enough to get much of us in the picture.

Here's a picture of our view. It was beautiful. Everything was very green, and the sun peeked out a few times.

This was taken at the end of the day with the sun going down. We had five bikes in our group. You can only see a couple here. I can't believe these are not blurry. We were going pretty fast and I held my arms up in the air, fighting the wind. We had a great time with great friends.

Flashback Friday

This Friday I decided to go a different route. A couple days ago Brian brought home an old console record player. We set it up in my office, I cleaned it up and we started with the old albums. I have been listening to nothing else for 2 days. I feel 12 again. It reminds me of all those hours spent up in our bedroom listening to these. Then I have all the 45s from High School. Wow, those are some awesome songs. Why is it that you can listen to a song that you haven't heard for 25 years and you still know all the words? I have a huge tote of these albums and have only made it through a few. Some of them are so scratchy that they are hard to hear, but I know what they are singing. I listen to them anyway. Time to go, it just dropped the next record. "I Think I Love You" by the Partridge Family. (now you can have that song stuck in your head)

All Grown Up

What can a parent do to stop this process? I know we all want our kids to grow up and spread their wings. But even when they do, it is tough on us moms.

Things are easier when the biggest problem is changing diapers and washing bottles.

Then they start crawling and get into everything, but things still aren't real big issues.

Then they go through loving pets and unfortunately losing them.

The fun times when they bring so much joy and make you proud.

The times when it seems the day couldn't get any worse, then Grandpa's tractor makes the day better.

This is my favorite picture of all times.

And of course the first day of preschool, the beginning of a new era.

So why the Andy memory tour? Big things have been happening in his life. Last year he got engaged and built a house. Today he started a new career. He is following in his Dad's footsteps. He bought himself a semi. This is both exciting and scary to me. Probably because I am the Mom. What about all the meanies out there? What about when the weather is bad? Will he eat 3 good meals a day? What about the germs in those public showers? What if is is 100 degrees and they have to work, will he drink enough? Boy oh boy being a Mom is stressful. We are put here to nuture and protect our kids and when they are old enough to take care of themselves it leaves a little spot empty inside. We are very excited for Andy and Casey and very proud of them.

Bloggers Block

I have had "Bloggers Block" for the past few days. There hasn't been anything happening the last couple days, just a few things. First the wedding was beautiful, even with the flu being passed around like wildfire. The picture above is from one of the bridesmaid's bouquets. I am sure Joni will be posting pictures on her blog. Other than that there is not much here. (This is a really boring post)

Flashback Friday

For this weeks Flashback Friday I thought a wedding photo was appropriate. Patti was in our cousin's wedding. That is a pretty fancy hairdo for back in the day. I remember she kept this dress forever. Do you still have it Patti?

Chili on TV

Yesterday I got emails and phone calls about my husband being a TV star. Of course I missed it. It was on way to early in the morning for me to catch it. They didn't tell us when it was going to be aired. I taped the evening news because I thought they would run it again but it wasn't on then. Then this morning when I got up I had an email from Diann with the link to the website. To watch the clip click here.

Rainy Days

blkseasons30

Today we start decorating for Joni’s wedding. It is raining and will continue to rain for a couple days. By Saturday there won’t be any rain left in the clouds and the weather will be beautiful. A beautiful day for a beautiful bride.

Mysterious Rock Formations

What do you call these? The rocks were ever so carefully put into place. They were made out of love for worms. (yuck) They are worm swimming pools of course.

Play Time

Felicity has been standing on her own for a week or so now. This weekend she took one step. Of course she doesn't do it when you want her to, she just plops down on her butt. This video has nothing to do with walking. I just think it is cute. The screaming thing is her new gig. It started out kind of cute, now she does it way to much. Let me know if you can figure out what she is saying on this video.

I would like to say Happy Mother’s Day to all of you mothers out there, especially our mothers. We love you and appreciate all you do and have done for us in the past.

Now that our kids are grown, we understand how much work and love it takes to raise and to keep a family together.  The example of your strength, devotion, and patience is now rippling through the generations.  Thank you!

Sprinkler Fun

What do we do on hot summer days without a pool?  We get out the sprinkler and have some fun!         ...
