Mama Mia

Here we are right before the show started. So excited!!

In this picture: Tracy (my daughter) Patti (my sister) Megan (my niece) Casey (my daughter-in-law) and me.

What a night! That show was truly amazing. We laughed so hard we cried. The costumes were amazing. (that's a lot of really short sentences) These are photos of the actual cast we saw last night.

If you ever get the chance to go see Mama Mia I strongly suggest you bite the bullet, spend the money and go. When it was finished we all wanted it to start over again.

What To Say............

I haven't posted in a few days because my creative juices haven't been a flowin'. I've been pretty busy around here the last few days with all the events at church for this week. On Sunday we had a chili cook off, which was a big hit and lots of fun. Last night we built our float for the parade on Sunday. Tomorrow night we go see the musical "Mama Mia" I am so stinkin excited about that!!!! Then on Saturday we are having a booth for Harvest Days where we will be selling cheesecake dipped in chocolate on a stick. And of course those cake pops that we have been making forever. Hopefully I will have my camera with for a few of these events so I can share with you.

Thanks for stopping by even though this post is pretty boring. I had to add a picture of our Sunshine just to make it interesting.

How Does This Happen?

Are you kidding me? I thought my hair felt a little funny when I got up this morning so I had to take a look in the mirror. This is what I saw! How does this happen? Who came into my bedroom last night with a comb and ratted my hair for me? My hair is "normally" pretty straight.

Unless........

It has to do with the fact that I haven't left the house since noon on Wednesday. Can you believe that? Those of you who know me personally I'm sure that doesn't shock you too much.

When we built our home 13 years ago I didn't leave the house for 2 weeks! No kidding. Never walked out the door!! I know that seems totally unimaginable to some of you, but I do love to be home.

Honestly at this point I need to get out of here! In the past 72 hours I have eaten a whole loaf of homemade bread, half a cheese pizza, a bag of chips with a container of dip, and finished off the gallon of vanilla ice cream (with caramel on it of course). If I don't get out of here soon, I am going to blow up like a big turd!

Ok, I have vented now. I'm off to Patti's house to make our cake pops for next Saturday's sale for church.

Hope you all have a great day.

Flashback Friday

The picture for this week's Flashback Friday is one of my favorites. This is my Dad in High School. I guess that's where Andy gets his love for football.

More of Andy & Casey's Wedding

I just had to share these couple pictures with all of you. These were taken at the meal of our son's wedding. They of course had both sets of parents stand up and kiss. We honestly didn't kiss that long, the pictures just make it seem like we did. Now to the funny part............watch our daughter's face in the lower right corner of each picture............

I guess it is a bit embarrassing to see Dad and Mom "doing that."

You can also check out a few more pictures that our photographer put on her blog. Go see them here. (make sure you comment on them for Andy & Casey to win a free 8x10)

Also check out the "Babies & Bellies" link on the right. Felicity has some photos in there.

Disco Cures Cancer

Friday night we went to Disco Cures Cancer. It is a huge party that raises funds for cancer in our area. This is only the second year that we have gone, but we plan on making it a yearly thing.

This is our group that we had this year. On the right is my sister, then me and Brian, and the rest are Brian's cousins. I should have taken more pictures of other people there. Some of the costumes are hilarious. I think the most popular outfit this year was the short short dress with the white gogo boots. Yikes.........a little too short for this chick.

I wanted to take a picture of that guy's huge blonde afro but didn't want to look too obvious. Patti decided to "pose" for me so I could get a shot.

I love Todd's look on his face in this picture, he looks a bit confused.

It was an awesome time and we are always looking for more people to join us. Believe me, you will have a good time. You just can't help it!

An Exciting Discovery

Casey had an ultrasound yesterday and I got to go along. The technology sure has changed since I was pregnant 22 years ago. I never even got an ultrasound. They only did that if they thought something was wrong. I was there when Tracy had one and found out the sex of the baby. Except she didn't want to know so I had to keep the secret from her until Felicity was born. I made sure I said "he" and "she" throughout the next few months just to keep Tracy from knowing. That was a tough job.

Well, this time we all got to find out what the sex of the baby is. I know sometimes they are not accurate when they tell you but that's the risk you take. But this time there was no doubt in the sex of this one, it was very obvious..............

It's a boy! Little Jack Rodman. I can't wait to meet him in March.

Photoshop Practice

I've been playing around with my PE7 a lot in the past week. I want to learn more about textures. I found this one under effects, then Vintage photo.

Has anyone out there found any textures in PE7 that you really like?

A Little Catch Up

This is what my back yard looked like yesterday. Oh boy, not sure if I'm ready for this yet.

I haven't posted for a few days (I had Tracy post on Saturday) because I have been not feeling very well. Brian and Kylee aren't so good either. Good thing is....we haven't started oinking yet!

Now why would a cute little four year old hang this poor deer like this?

Because that's what Mommy did the night before to her buck!

Sunday night Tammy, and three of the guys went to sit back in our woods to bag the big buck. Once darkness fell they all came back one by one with their stories of the night. Brian and Tom had no luck at all. Cole shot himself a doe. Then comes the call from Tammy, another buck. This is the second time in a few years that she has done this. No target practice with her bow, still wearing perfume and hair products from the day, and she goes to her stand and shoots a deer. I think maybe the guys should take some pointers from her. (I talk smart because I don't hunt at all) But if I did, I would maybe have Tammy teach me.

And one last picture just because she is so darn cute.

Update: I removed the picture of Tammy with her deer. I guess I've grown up around hunting here in Wisconsin and have seen many pictures with deer. Sorry if that picture offended anyone.

Just Another Fall Day

Every year, it is tradition in our family to travel up to Timm's Hill to enjoy the beautiful fall weather. This year we went with the Smola Family. It turned out to be a very rainy day, but that didn't stop us. We drove up there gazing at the beautiful fall colors. (I, of course, got sick from the curving and winding roads. What's new though?!)

Here are Cole and Felicity walking around checking out the scenery. She wants to be just like her Daddy. I absolutely LOVE this picture. Priceless.

Monkey and the Smola boys. Best friends.

The day after we went to Timm's Hill, I took Monkey to the park to practice taking some "fall" pictures. I was looking for a good place to take family pictures. I found it! I just love the leaves, bridge and boardwalk. It will be perfect for pictures, which I am hoping to take tomorrow.

I was bummed after taking this picture. Bummed because I should have dressed her up in some cute clothes because seriously, isn't this adorable? Jeeze. What was I thinking? Hopefully she does this tomorrow.

Another good one......

And another..... Oh well, she's still adorable in her jeans and a sweatshirt. Hopefully it all works out for tomorrow. Wish us luck!

Sprinkler Fun

What do we do on hot summer days without a pool?  We get out the sprinkler and have some fun!         ...
