We have have had a tough morning today. Andy's dog, Tink, went to doggie heaven. It was a very hard decision for him. He loved her so much. For any of you that have known Tink, you know she was always the topic of conversation while sitting on the front porch in the summer. Everyone loved her. She had her issues, but that's what made Tink special. Next time you see Andy give him a hug and let him know you are thinking of him during this tough time.
Dear Lord,
Please open your gates and call St. Francis to come escort this beloved companion across the Rainbow Bridge.
Assign her to a place of honor,
for she has been a faithful servant and has always done her best to please me.
Bless the hands that send her to you,
for they are doing so in love and compassion,
freeing her from pain and suffering.
Grant me the strength not to dwell on my loss.
Help me remember the details of her life with the love she has shown me.
And grant me the courage to honor her by sharing those memories with others.
Let her remember me as well and let her know that I will always love her.
And when it's my time to pass over into your paradise,
please allow her to accompany those who will bring me home.
Thank you, Lord, for the gift of her companionship and for the time we've had together.
And thank you, Lord, for granting me the strengthto give her to you now.
Amen.
Tell Andy we are thinking of him. It is so hard when you finally have to make that decision. Tink is in a better place.
ReplyDeleteWe went thru that twice this past year and it is a hard thing to do.
ReplyDeleteI was just thinking about Andy the other day. He made such an impact on Adam's school days when he was a Senior and he came to the Middle School to talk to the LD kids. Adam talked about him for a long time, and now Adam is the Senior. Sorry about Andy's dog, our kids were crushed the couple times we had to go through this.
ReplyDeleteI'm so so sorry about his sweet dog. My heart goes out to him.
ReplyDeleteAndy, We are thinking of you and praying you will hold onto the beautiful and special memories only your dog can bring to your life. We love you and know Tink did too! Love The Prayer!!!!!
ReplyDeleteHope to see you all soon,
The Morgan's
I thought Tink would live forever. That it one dog that will be missed. I remember one time I stopped over by Brian and Julies, I seen Tink in the East side of the ditch. I thought he was dead. I went running out there and just before I got there, he got up and ran back to the house. I found out later that he always does this---he gets tired out so he stops where he is at and takes a breather. Sure scared me. Now Heaven will be brighter with Tink there.
