Here I am again with not much going on here. Making lists and checking them twice for what to take on vacation. I always overpack. Brian is actually taking our suitcases with him in his semi. He is meeting us down there. That means I can fill the suitcases as full as I want and not have to pay the $100 for an overweight limit suitcase. That is sooooo cool. I'm just not sure what to take. The cruise has a Captain's Dinner and that is formal. Dress clothes. (check) Hopefully it will be warm enough to swim at one point. Swimsuit. (check) Then I get lost. I think I need 20 pairs of shorts, jeans, about a hundred tops. What's a girl to do? Then of course you always buy clothes while you're gone and end up bringing home most of what you took, unworn. All that work and planning down the tubes. Am I thinking too hard? Do you pack enough for every day you will be gone? Or do you plan on buying something there? Will we do laundry? Oh well, I know I will over pack, always do.

Since I am sharing more of the photos from the wedding, I figured I should show off the bride and groom. This was hard to pick just a few.

Hello Everyone! This is Tracy, Julie's daughter. I have something to share with you! Today was Jack's first of many photo shoots. A ...

You jump out of the truck, (with no jacket, wearing your Daddy's hat, and no shoes) to take a picture in the beautiful forest. Wait........
I am an over-packer. We need to join over-packers anonymous.
ReplyDeleteOver pack on the swimsuits and forget the rest. Soak in the sun as much as you can. Sun dresses take up , need any I have like 5 of them? I'm a good packer, do you want me to teach a class on packing? I always worry about losing a piece of luggage so I pack half of my clothes and half of John's in each suitcase and then make sure there is a swimsuit for each of us in the carry on, I hate to be on vacation without a suit. Now Lynn on the other hand is a terrible packer but I think she learned her lesson when her luggage was stolen. I'm getting excited for you just watching your ticker tick down....
ReplyDeleteJulie, I totally agree with Connie! She sounds like she has it down, so what if you have to where your swimsuit to the Captains Dinner, Ha!
ReplyDeleteThe swimsuit is all you will need! You go girl, it will be a blast and make sure you bottle the warm weather and sunshine for me!
Love, ya
Melanie
Ah yes! I have the worst luck with packing. One year my luggage was delayed everything was in it... clothes even my glasses, my pills, everything! What was in my carry on? Snacks and entertainment of course!!!
ReplyDeleteThen there was the year that the suitcase never returned and I lost all my clothes and a brand new winter jacket and all our Christmas presents!! That was fun! Good thing I learned a little and had my glasses and pills and curling iron with me in my carry on!
Then we went to Mexico. Ha! I thought my husband was going to divorce me right there in the airport! (giggling) I packed everything possible! I didn't know what to expect! Was I going to need an outfit for the day... and outfit at night... and then a fancy outfit... and shoes! I wanted all my sandles... so I brought them all! Well we get to the airport and our luggage is over weight and they want to charge us more $$... not going for it... so we started moving stuff around and into our carry on. Oh not fun! Then I get to Mexico and I wore my suimsuit and suimsuit cover up the ENTIRE time!! So... I learned... just pack your 5 suimsuits, a cover up, a few sun dresses, and the rest is for flip flops, sandles, sunblock and sunglasses... or even a cute sun hat!
Odds are, you won't do any laundry. Who wants to do laundry on vacation? I'm a planner...so when we went on our cruise, I made a list of each day what I was going to wear, laid it all out on the bed according to days and then packed it. And I did one extra shirt and one extra shorts. You will probably only need 1 pair of jeans and one sweatshirt. But I had to stick my pre-planned list since I didn't bring extra to make changes. Man, I need to loosen up :)
ReplyDeleteWow, thanks for all the advice. Connie, I will get your sundresses from you sometime in the next week. Lynn, sorry about the lost luggage, that's always a nightmare. And far as swimsuits, I only have one that has big flowers on it that I don't really like anymore. I ordered a new one yesterday, hopefully it is here in time. Don't have a cover-up, better get one. And Kari, man oh man, I don't think I could stick to a schedule like that. I change my mind too much.
ReplyDeleteI think you are all crazy. I'm just going to sit in WI and pout, okay! On second thought, maybe I could crawl into that suitcase that Brian takes with him.
ReplyDeleteJust kidding... Have FUN!!
