I know this is a weird Flashback picture. I usually like to embarrass someone in my family with pictures of them (and me).
Now to explain this picture. This was taken in the summer of 1983. We rented this trailer for the summer. It was a gem. The right side of the picture is the end of the trailer. Huge, isn't it? We only lived there through the summer because the walls of this thing were only about 2 inches thick. We knew we'd never survive in it through one of our harsh Wisconsin winters.
And the cars. That "yellow" thing was the first car Brian ever bought me. It had doors that went the whole length of the car. I couldn't park next to any other cars as the doors wouldn't open enough to even get out.
It's a good thing to always remember where you came from. It keeps a person humble.

You jump out of the truck, (with no jacket, wearing your Daddy's hat, and no shoes) to take a picture in the beautiful forest. Wait........
Oh I loved these memories! I remember our great big 1970's Oldsmobile Delta 88, that car with it's curved back seat could have doubled for a cottage it was so huge.
ReplyDeleteForget about cramming that thing into a parking space! I wonder what it would cost to fill those gas tanks today!
HAHA! I had an impala like that, super looooong doors, one day it back fired and we thought it was a drive by, yeah I grew up in the wrong part of town. WOW now Im having flashbacks, I like yours better though ;)
ReplyDeleteLooks just like the car my best friend had back in high school...except hers was dark brown. We used to refer to it as her "Uncle Buck" car! Oh, the memories! :)

I grew up with a similar car!! My dad loved big long cars. But I'll tell ya, it was a real pain to learn parallel parking in it! LOL

That trailer was small!! You could sit on one side of the room and rub toes with someone sitting of the other wall!!! Doesn't matter tho', when you are young and in love, you can live in a cardboard box and be happy. Mom
ReplyDeleteThose memories are the best:)...and the ones that are the most memorable:)
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that cars don't look like that anymore! :o)
ReplyDeleteYour car looks like of like my husbands first car. I bet you had wonderful memories in that trailer. I know we did in ours!!
