Flashback Friday
I know this is a weird Flashback picture. I usually like to embarrass someone in my family with pictures of them (and me).
Now to explain this picture. This was taken in the summer of 1983. We rented this trailer for the summer. It was a gem. The right side of the picture is the end of the trailer. Huge, isn't it? We only lived there through the summer because the walls of this thing were only about 2 inches thick. We knew we'd never survive in it through one of our harsh Wisconsin winters.
And the cars. That "yellow" thing was the first car Brian ever bought me. It had doors that went the whole length of the car. I couldn't park next to any other cars as the doors wouldn't open enough to even get out.
It's a good thing to always remember where you came from. It keeps a person humble.

Very Strange
Is this one of the strangest thing you ever saw? My husband makes these every few weeks around here. I don't do any of the grilling so I haven't really taken a good look when he does this.
He takes a can of beer and sticks it up the butt. He puts a potato in its neck. Then grills it until the outside is golden brown. Glamorous isn't it?
This is actually very delicious. The meat is tender and juicy. I guess you just have to not actually see it during the cooking process. Next time I won't look...
I can't believe I actually posted this kind of gross picture.

His Favorite Winter Activity
In case you missed it on Monday, I am posting pictures this week that my hubby has been taking. I thought I would give you a different perspective of winter here in Wisconsin.
He leaves the house at the crack of dawn. A beautiful sunrise to start his day.
The morning is quiet and the trees are frosty. The temperature is -7 degrees.
They drive out onto the lake where there are lots of temporary shacks.
Next it's time to unload the "gear."
Let the drilling begin!
Watch your step! This is the hole for fishing. The ice is about 2 1/2 feet thick.
Once the poles are set in the water, they wait...
until someone catches a fish. This is Brian's Dad, who still loves to fish too.
Do you know what this is? Let me know in a comment if you do.
The poles are ready, and they wait some more...
and wait.............
and WAIT!!!
and here's another one for the experienced fisherman. It was too small to keep.
Time to head home. It was very windy and cold. Not what I would want to be doing.
He gets home and spends time with Chip.
Here's the beautiful sunset at the end of this blessed day.

Dog Sled Races
Every year the dog sled races run through the back end of our property. We can see them from the house with binoculars but not too well. (we own 100 acres)
Saturday Brian hopped on the snowmobile and drove back to where the sleds came through. It is pretty cool to watch them.
As you can see, it was snowing pretty heavy at this time.
He shot this angle from up in his tree stand for hunting.
I am going to call this week "Through Brian's Eyes." He has been taking pictures for me lately and I am going to share them with you all this week. Be ready for a "different" perspective of life in Wisconsin. I pretty much hibernate for 5 months and he is a total outdoors kind of guy.

Grand March - Evolution of Dance
Yes, I am still going through wedding photos....
For the Grand March at Casey and Andy's wedding they did
If you haven't watched the video yet, go do it now. (it is the youtube video they copied, not them) I still laugh every time I watch it and I've seen it many times. The wedding party is huge and I think that's what made it so fun to watch. Some of them had practiced the week before and some of them had never seen the video.

Baby Shower
On Saturday we had a baby shower for Casey. It turned out to be a full house and tons of fun.
Isn't this the cutest cake you ever saw? It had raspberry filling in it. The cake also gives you a peek at what Jack's room looks like. We copied these animals from his blanket, traced them on the wall and painted them. Too cute!
And one parting shot of the happy expecting couple.
Soon...so soon.

You jump out of the truck, (with no jacket, wearing your Daddy's hat, and no shoes) to take a picture in the beautiful forest. Wait........
