The Flower Itch
I think spring may be trying to show herself here in Wisconsin the past week.
How can flowers put a smile on your face? I love fresh cut flowers in my house, even if I have to buy them from the store.
Then when my tulips died I bought these beautiful colored daisies. The colors were so vibrant and beautiful in the afternoon sun.
This morning I walked around my yard a little bit and there are some small signs of spring around here.
This little guy is poking up between the brick on my back patio. Even though he doesn't really "belong" there, I can't pull him out. I'm sure he worked pretty hard at growing and blooming in our cold weather this spring.
I think I'm finally getting the itch to head to the flower shops to buy all the beauties to fill my flower beds and hanging baskets.
Even though they are calling for some more of that white stuff on Wednesday...
It's okay at this point in the spring because I know it will all melt the same day.☺
Happy Spring Everyone!

Big Ball...Little Girl
A couple weekends ago we decided to give bowling a shot. Brian and I haven't been bowling for many years. On a good day I bowl around a 60. I know, pretty good right?
Since we had the little ones bowling with us they put the bumpers up in our lanes. Guess what score I got using the bumpers? Yep....a whole 92. I think I should join a bowling league.

Daddy Trumps GG
Jack and I were hanging out the other day and he kept looking up at the wall and smiling. I thought he was just smiling because he loves me...
Nope. He was looking at a picture of him and his Daddy.

The Smell is Worth the Task
I decided to give in and hang some laundry on the clothesline. I love the fresh smell but absolutely do not like the task of putting them out there and bringing them in.
Maybe it's because I had to put boots on and tromp through the snow to do it.

I've Been Grilled
I am always searching blog land for other women who are in the same stage of life as I am. I am finding more and more blogging Grandmas. A while ago I stumbled across Lisa's blog: Grandma's Briefs. Just the title had me hooked. She has a beautiful family and the cutest little grandson, Bubby, that she totally adores.
When she asked me if I was interested in being one of her "Grilled Grandmas" I was pretty excited to become part of that group. Come on all you other grandmas out there.....go check it out.
You can read my "grilling" here.

Meet Me On Monday
Blogging is a funny thing...we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time we find ourselves sitting and wondering, "who is this person!?" I know them...but yet I don't know them! I want to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought I would join Java at Never Growing Old for Meet Me on Monday for a great way for all of us to "meet" each other!
1. If you had to eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
2. Do you write your blog posts in advance or the day you post them?
I very rarely schedule a post a head of time. I pretty much post when I have something to post about. I've read so many "proper blogging" articles and I pretty much do it all wrong. I don't have a "purpose" for my blog, I don't have a "specific subject", I don't "post regularly" and I don't "always" respond to every comment I get. Who made all these rules anyway?
3. Have you ever ridden in an ambulance?
5. Coffee or tea?
1. If you had to eat only one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Unfortunately it would have to be bread....bad bad bread.

No.....thank goodness!
4. What is your favorite candle scent? Spiced Pumpkin from Yankee Candle Co. is my favorite but I do like pretty much any candle that smells like food. I don't like the perfumey flowery ones.
5. Coffee or tea?
This one is pretty easy.....

The Famous Scones
For anyone who is a "friend" to me and my two sisters on Facebook, you know about all the conversations about Deb's famous scones. Whenever she mentions they are coming out of the oven soon you never know who just might show up to indulge in the hot delicious pastry.
The other day Tracy and I wanted to learn to make them ourselves. Patti has already braved the scone world on her own and made them herself. Since we had a busy day ahead of us Patti showed up at my house a little after seven. We started mixing, rolling, and cutting scones. We made four different kinds. Blueberry Almond, Lemon Blueberry, Cranberry Almond and my all time favorite Raspberry Chocolate Chip.
By the time the first batch came out of the oven Deb was sitting at the counter with a cup of coffee. I'm glad "the pro" came over since she gave us a couple of really good tips.
Tracy and Casey rolled in about an hour later and had their taste of pure scone heaven.I ended up eating three of those bad boys.
I'm thinking Saturday sounds like a good time for another Coffone (coffee/scone) morning. Any takers?
Is there any better way to start off a perfect day than with family, coffee and scones? I think not.
