Where we were two years ago at this time.....

Makeover

If you stop by here sometime this week you may see things a bit out of sorts. 

My blog is undergoing a makeover! Yippeee!

So if things look a little weird just bare with me, it will be awesome when it's done.

After it is all finished I am changing my URL to fit the new title of the blog. I am purchasing it through Blogger so they tell me everyone will be rerouted to the new address. I sure hope so because I don't want to lose any my bloggy friends.

Thundersnow

Last night we had a huge snowstorm come through here. It started out with some rain and sleet, then turned into all snow with some horrendous winds. Right after I filmed this one of our shutters flew off the house and right past me. I quickly shut the door and retreated back into my warm house.

Then it started thundering and lightning! It was pretty odd to hear the thunder mixed in with all the wind and snow pelting against the windows.

 

 When I got up this morning some of the windows are totally blocked from all the snow and ice built up on the outside.

 Our winter has been pretty tough. The wind ripped up the tarp on top of the clubhouse.

Brian had to drive home from Chicago last night in the storm. He said it was definitely some of the worst driving conditions he has ever drove in. The truck got stuck right in the middle of the driveway when he got home. 

Oh yeah, see the basketball pole? That blew over in the last storm we had....

Meet Me On Monday

Blogging  is a funny thing...we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read  and yet most of the time we find ourselves sitting and wondering, "who is  this person!?"  I know them...but yet I don't know them!  I want  to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought I would join Java at Never Growing Old for Meet Me on Monday for a great  way for all of us to "meet" each other!

1.  What jewelry do you wear 24/7?

 I wear my anniversary band that Brian got me for our 10th anniversary. I only put on "the big guns" when I go somewhere, which really isn't very often.


2.  Do you twirl your spaghetti or cut it?

 Definitely twirl.

What fun would that be if you cut it up?

3.  How many siblings do you have?

 I have five brothers...

(all older than me)

and two silly sisters.
(one older and one younger)

4.  Were you named after anyone?

 I don't think so. I think my mom told me she found my name in a newspaper. Correct me if I'm wrong Mom.

Spring Break?

I've been reading on other blogs lately about their fun spring break adventures. Some of you have even posted pictures of your children in swimsuits playing in a sprinkler! That's just crazy to me.

Around here there is still some pretty serious ice fishing going on. Kylee and Felicity got to go give it a try with Papa.

There's a lot of sitting around waiting for that "big one" to get on the line. This is pretty hard to do when you are only 2 years old. Five minutes seems like an eternity.

But it's all worth it to see that big smile when she finally gets herself a fish.

(It is supposed to be 53 degrees here tomorrow....hooray!)

Yep.....

It's still winter.....

 

I think we need a bigger sled. 

Jack may look like he's not having fun, but he loved it.

It was a whopping 37 degrees.....time for some sledding.

The girls have been waiting for the snow to go away so they can play on the swingset. 

They decided they couldn't wait any more.

 I used to eat a lot more potatoes than I do these past few years. Mashed were always my potato of choice but these days if I eat potatoes, it has got to be big fat french fries.

 A baby shower present for Tiffany from Target.

3.  What is your favorite scent that you love to smell?

 I absolutely love the smell of lilacs. They are here for such a short time...

5.  Are your parents married or divorced?

They are married, and I thank God they are still with us for many years to come.

Look Who's One

Can you believe a year has gone by already? I just can't believe Jack is one year old today. It seems like yesterday that Andy and Casey told us they were expecting. Now it's been a whole year that Jack has made his special spot in our hearts.

He reminds me so much of his Daddy. 

I know those of you that knew Andy when he was little and now know Jack totally agree with me.

He loves his cars, trucks, and anything with wheels.

A smile that melts my heart every time.

Growing up to be such a gentle little man already.

I didn't save any of my kids' clothes, except for this little tux that Andy wore. I dug it out the other day, washed it, and we put it on Jack. Super cute.
