So where have I been you ask? I have to tell you a little story first.
Two days before Mother's Day I spent the day mowing our lawn. This is a view from the back of the house. You can't really tell how much lawn we have to mow from this picture, but it is A LOT! It takes me 5 hours twice a week.
Anyhow......I absolutely love summer. I impatiently wait every spring for the temps to start hitting the 70s and 80s. This day it was about 70....not warm enough for me yet but I'll take it.
Then I woke up the next morning to this.............
That was enough for me. Since Brian had been gone on the road for a month already at this time, (which is pretty unusual for him) I called him up and said, "I am flying out to D.C. to meet you."
I bought a ticket that day and flew out on Mother's Day.
Now this was no vacation let me tell you. There was a lot of work involved during the week. This is what I saw a lot of........traffic.
I got a little bored sometimes....
Why does this always happen right in my line of sight? UGH!
After a week of loading and unloading the semi trailer we finally hit Chicago.
Ahhhh, the sign for Wisconsin. Almost home.
I have one thing to ask everyone out there. Do you drive in this traffic every day? This would drive me crazy! Our little one horse town of 4,000 people doesn't have this issue. Heck, I remember when we got our first stop light. I think we are up to 5 now!
I can't wait to get back to all of you and see what you have been up to. I have missed the blog world terribly.
And I can't forget....thanks to Patti for filling up a little of my dead air on my blog while I was away. (I'm just not to sure about that picture she picked out.) Hehehe. Thanks Patti
After a week of riding around in that bumpy truck, holding my pee, and not knowing when my next shower was............I was sure glad I got to spend the extra time with this guy.....Love ya honey! Thanks for the ride.

Since I am sharing more of the photos from the wedding, I figured I should show off the bride and groom. This was hard to pick just a few.

You jump out of the truck, (with no jacket, wearing your Daddy's hat, and no shoes) to take a picture in the beautiful forest. Wait........
Hey there! Glad you are back. Good you got to spend time with hub on the road.
ReplyDeleteHey.. a road trip! I do not drive in traffic like that. But.. if we want to go into the city.. its a mess! It may take me 30 minutes to get my kids to school.. but that's because of country roads.. not highway traffic.. I'll take it!
ReplyDeleteI'll take Medford "traffic" anyday! And I think you need a big Green Acres tractor with a mower behind it. That's way too much mow time.
ReplyDeleteI know all too well what this life is like which is why I have no desire to go with my husband. That and the fact that I take a water pill everyday, I don't think so! Good for you Jules!
ReplyDeleteLove Di ♥
You should have stopped by and said hello to us in Chicago!!
ReplyDeleteThe Chicago traffic is awful, my kiddies drive in it daily...I'm happy to be living in the quiet 'burbs, but at least once a week I have to deal with it.
I know how depressing that snow is, especially after a beautiful day...right now I'm in FLA though!
Missed you!!
M.E.
Good for you! I bet it was great to get out of that crazy weather and see your hubby. We leave for a 7-8 day road trip on my birthday in a couple of weeks and I CANNOT WAIT!!!! We haven't been anywhere for 2 or 3 years now. I love to travel and I'm so ready to see "the world" again. We're heading up your way to Door County, WI and the upper peninsula of MI in the car with our two girls all the way from KS! Hope it's not too chilly and as pretty as I'm imagining it! Glad you're back:)

ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time! I bet you saw lots of interesting things!
ReplyDeleteSounds like an adventure. And holy yard you have there!
ReplyDeleteI love roadtrips....and I remember the ones before kids...good times!
ReplyDeleteHi Jules, I am visiting from LMM's site...I'm having fun visiting your blog. My gosh, you have a gorgeous yard. I hope you have a riding lawn mower...
ReplyDeleteHave a super day,

Road trip!! Glad you got to spend some time with your favorite man. I was doing a little traveling myself in NYC. I love visiting but there is no way I would live there. Welcome back!
ReplyDeleteThats a heck of a lawn! Sounds fun with the hub, except for holding the pee part! LOL
ReplyDeleteWe used to have a big yard like that. But with seven kids, they all took turns and I didn't have to mow. Now we have a postage stamp yard and the girls never mind mowing because they all remember the humungous yard we used to have.
ReplyDeleteYay for taking a spur of the moment trip. It's fun to do something out of the ordinary.
City traffic is no fun. We spent a day in Minneapolis last month and I couldn't wait to leave.
Glad you're back.
Glad you are back. I am so ready for true spring to get here and stay.
ReplyDeleteOuch on the lawn mowing. That is huge.
Yes, Chicago & DC driving is crazy. Been to both several times and hate driving in it.
Welcome back.
I missed ya!
ReplyDeleteMan that traffic woul dhave drove me crazy...I would have needed to be medicated :OP
But at least you got to spend time with your man!!!
What an adventure! I think it's wonderful that you were able to spend that time together. I'm sure you have a bunch of stories saved up too. Look forward to hearing them!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't drive in traffic like that either, or mow my line for 5 hours a day twice a week - you're a champ!
That's my girl!! When she was about 10 years old and starting out on a trip, 5 miles down the rode she's saying,"Are we there yet?" Coming back home she's hanging over the back of the seat watching for that first glimpse of our farm house and yells,"Oh my, Home sweet home!" Glad you are back, Jules- I know Brian was glad for the company.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, glad you had a good trip.
ReplyDeleteLove it! You guys are adorable - felt like I was right there with ya! Glad you made it home!
ReplyDeleteGirl, we've got a few things in common. First, I have a sister name Julie too. Secondly, I HATE traffic. I used to be a working mom, and let me tell you, I didn't mind the job just the commute in Seattle traffic. An hour each way to drive less than 15 miles. YUCK!! The photos of your home or gorgeous, and I bet you had fun on your cross country drive in spite of the traffic.
ReplyDeleteThat is the biggest bug splat I've seen in a long time!!! Love the photos.
ReplyDeleteMary
You and your hubby are so stinkin cute by the way. I love the picture of the two of you on your header. So sweet. But, the bug guts on the windshield... that was awesome!! We are going on our first road trip as a family this summer. Pray for me. Pray for my sanity.
ReplyDeleteWhat? SNOW, now?!! You're scaring me about our upcoming move to MN, girl!
ReplyDeleteHow super sweet of you to go join your honey on the road! :)
