We've Been "Flocked"
A couple weeks ago our church's fundraising group started a new fundraiser for the summer. I had never heard of "flocking" before and we thought we would give it a try.
Tracy (my daughter) has been in charge of moving the birds from house to house. I've helped her a few times. It is pretty fun sneaking around filling lawns with theseugly pretty plastic pink birds.

Until........I woke up to this.....
The funny thing is I was actually kind of involved with my own flocking.
Tracy goes flocking a lot at night. Her girls are in bed sleeping so I got over to her house so she can sneak around people's houses in the dark. Last night was no different. I did my part and stayed with the girls while she went to flock our local police chief. (so I was told)
Now all of you members of our church that are laughing about this right now.....watch out! I am still trying to decide who I will send these beautiful lawn decorations to next.
It just might be YOU.

First Campfire
The weather finally cooperated enough for us to have our first campfire of the summer. It was still a little chilly but we braved it out anyway. Is there anything better than the smell of a fire and time with family and friends?
Waiting for the fire to get ready to make some smores.
Yum!
The sunset was gorgeous.
Oh no, chocolate down the front of a cute pink sweatshirt.
What are they lined up for?
Fireworks!
I hope you all had a great weekend and savor every minute of the summer.
Tomorrow is the first official day of summer....
maybe we can put away the sweatshirts and jeans soon....maybe.....

Take A Walk With Me
I've had a few people asking about the new name of my blog. It started as a little ongoing joke around our little neighborhood and has seemed to stick.
Jump ahead about 12 years, we gave Tracy & Cole some land where they built their home. A few years later Andy & Casey got married so we gave them a few acres too.
I thought I would take a walk around and show you our little part of the village. Now this is only the area that we mow. There is another 95 acres that I didn't get in these pics. Tracy and Andy's homes are not in these pictures. The first one is the view from the back east corner of our lawn.
This is our little guest house. A few years ago we moved it from Brian's parents property to our place. It was NOT in this shape when we got it. We completely gutted the inside, drywalled it, new cabinets and flooring, and new siding. Isn't it adorable?
Brian and I bought 100 acres of my Dad & Mom's dairy farm.
We built our home 16 years ago on that property.

Now we all live in our own little "village."

You can see why we had to get that huge zero turn lawn mower last year!
This one was taken on the back west corner.

This is inside the guest house. Here's the kitchen area.
The living room. (even though it is just one big room)
The sofa makes into a full size bed.
And the cute little bathroom.
This is the view when standing over by the kitchen.
Won't you come and stay with us?
This is coming up the back side of our house.
My brother and I built this brick patio.
Then I walked to the front west corner of our lawn.
This is the view from the front east corner of our lawn.
My hubby's truck and his big garage.
And back up toward the house.
And last our all time favorite place to be in the summer.
Our front porch.
I'm saving a seat just for you...
We do a lot of "front porch sittin'" around here.
Now you've had the tour around our yard.
We love our little ranch style house in the country.
Come visit sometime.

Meet Me On Monday
I haven't joined in on Java's Meet Me On Monday for quite a few weeks. I actually miss doing it. Her questions are fun and I love to meet all the new bloggers.
Here we go...
Blogging is a funny thing...we tell our most intimate thoughts for all to read and yet most of the time we find ourselves sitting and wondering, "who is this person!?" I know them...but yet I don't know them! I want to know who the person is behind all those words so I thought I would join Java at Never Growing Old for Meet Me on Monday for a great way for all of us to "meet" each other!
1. What is your favorite yogurt flavor?
2. Ankle or knee socks? and on the same theme, white socks or coloured?
3. How is the weather right now?
4. Are you a fast typer?
5. Red or White Wine?

1. What is your favorite yogurt flavor?
LOVE this stuff!
(I hope frozen yogurt counts)
2. Ankle or knee socks? and on the same theme, white socks or coloured?
That's a tricky question. My ankle socks are white...
and my knee socks are colored.
3. How is the weather right now?
Since I live in Wisconsin we never know what the weather is going to do.
Last week we broke records in the 90s.
and this weekend we barely hit 60 degrees...
I just don't know if I should turn on the A/C or the furnace!
4. Are you a fast typer?
I don't know what people call fast. I type between 50 and 60 wpm.
Unless I had to use one of these old typewriters...
5. Red or White Wine?
(Come on Julee.....what's this answer? I know you know it.)
Yep, the sweeter the better.
Well now you know "a little bit" more about me. Why don't you play along?

Summer's Here
The warm summer weather has finally made its way up here to Wisconsin.
We've been enjoying every minute of it.
The flowers are blooming and gorgeous.
Even the smallest ones are enjoying a good nap on the back porch.
I think pink is moving up on red to becoming my new favorite color.
Warm summer evenings.....love it!
Did I mention that I love flowers?
Mommy love
Sharing ice cream....
I hope you all had a great weekend....we sure did.
