Once again I'm not real sure what's going on in this picture. My guess would be the corn was really tall that year and we had to have a picture of it.
Cast of characters: First of all........well............there's Patti on the left...........what is up with her? A hat that is way too big and a raincoat? And I guess she was shy that day.
Then there's our cousin Annette. Next is me, with pigtails and oh such a colorful shirt.
And last is my brother Tim. I suppose he was put into the picture to show just how tall the corn was.
Mom if you read this please enlighten us on this picture's purpose.....
Update: My mom posted a comment below for this photo's explanation...

Since I am sharing more of the photos from the wedding, I figured I should show off the bride and groom. This was hard to pick just a few.

You jump out of the truck, (with no jacket, wearing your Daddy's hat, and no shoes) to take a picture in the beautiful forest. Wait........
Loved it!!! LOL
ReplyDeleteThe corn is certainly tall this year! Even my silly little patch of corn in my garden is already knee high.
ReplyDeleteDon't you love family photos that you have no idea as to the occasion or reasoning behind them?
So much fun! My cousins had a corn field behind their house and we used to play hide and seek in it all the time! I used to wear 2 ponies when I was little too!
ReplyDeleteYou know that saying...knee high by the 4th of July. I might not be able to enlighten you much on the picture, but I am assuming it was after the 4th of July. :-)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
For some reason it reminds me of The Wizard of Oz:-) Love the raincoat though!!
ReplyDeleteA thunder shower had just passed through and your city cousin, Annette, wanted to stand in the corn field to see if she could hear it growing!!! Yes, Tim is there to show how tall the corn really was. The things we did for excitement down on the farm!!!
ReplyDeleteIt's "Children of the Corn"!
ReplyDeleteLove Di ♥
When i saw it on the dashboard I thought of the wizard of oz. Not sure why and then you said the cast of characters and i laughed. What a cute picture though. The corn was really tall.
ReplyDeleteI'm thinking "If you Build it-They will come" ......LOLOLOL
ReplyDeleteI love the photo! And I love all of the commnts!
ReplyDeleteHave a pretty night,
Kristin
Here is my story....A big storm went thru with pouring rain. Dad was worried if the corn was still standing so we went to check it out. I'm not sure why I put that big raincoat and hat on, other than I think I was a strange child. As for hiding my face, I was making a peace sign!! I was way too cool.
ReplyDeletePatti probably had on a pretty outfit (like yours hehehehe) and she didn't want it to get wet.......so she wore a rain coat. Love the picture. Suziqrod
ReplyDeletePatti probably had on a pretty outfit (like yours hehehehe) and she didn't want it to get wet.......hence the raincoat. Love the picture. Suziqrod
ReplyDeleteCute picture!
ReplyDeleteI loved that Tim's presence serves an actual purpose. "Go stand in the corn, Tim!"
ReplyDeleteI love that picture - it reminds of my kids growing up in Ohio. They loved playing around in the "corn mazes"!
ReplyDeletehysterical! I love looking at old photos like that! the other day I was in a bookstore which had a 1970's photographers coffee table book... SO funny!! oh the 70's childhood memories! lol!
ReplyDeletehaha! My kids say that I am forever "propping" them in a photo of something...like the flowers in our garden or something...for the sole purpose of the flowers, etc...rather than the focus on the person in the photo! (I admit, this sometimes has been the case...)
ReplyDeleteBlessings & Aloha!
Love looking back at past photos...and love your mom's comment. :o)
