Spring Break?

I've been reading on other blogs lately about their fun spring break adventures. Some of you have even posted pictures of your children in swimsuits playing in a sprinkler! That's just crazy to me.

Around here there is still some pretty serious ice fishing going on. Kylee and Felicity got to go give it a try with Papa.

There's a lot of sitting around waiting for that "big one" to get on the line. This is pretty hard to do when you are only 2 years old. Five minutes seems like an eternity.

But it's all worth it to see that big smile when she finally gets herself a fish.

(It is supposed to be 53 degrees here tomorrow....hooray!)

  1. I know exactly what you mean about freezing spring break activities. You know you live in Wisconsin when you think 40 degrees is a warm day. Those pictures are precious. How wonderful of your husband to take them and how fun that they caught something.

  2. Yep, still waiting for all our snow to melt! Supposed to be in the 60's and 70's here the rest of the week though. Can't wait!

  3. Well, Jules, yesterday morning I woke up to 6" of snow on the ground. I'm not a happy camper! It's mostly gone already but it was a rude reminder that it's not quite spring yet :S

  4. Ice fishing has always intrigued me! I've never been anywhere cold enough for the water to be frozen over like that!

We're not swimming or playing in water yet, but the temps are near 80! That's pretty warm for so early in the year--even for the south!

  6. Ice fishing? I have heard about it but never have known anybody who actually did it. She is one tough cookie to stay out there waiting on a fish to bite.

  8. You have to have lots of patience for this game!! I don't have it-- just go to the son-in-law and find fresh water fish in the frezer!! I bet Felicity was really amazed when she saw that fish pulled out of the hole--

  9. This is one of those sports that I just don't understand. It is cold...you sit out on the ice for hours...for a fish? Not me, never. But, your pictures are cute and the kids look happy!

  11. It is so nice to escape the cold for a few days. We don't have frozen ground at home, but it was icing the day before we left. I don't want to go back to the cold. :)

  12. I love the 'ice fishing' idea but honestly have never known anyone that actually did that! We are counting down to our Disney trip (4 weeks from tomorrow) but honestly shouldn't complain. It's been relatively warm here and hard not to break out the Spring attire =) I have been wearing flip flops though, lol!

    Enjoy your warm weather!

  15. Looks like a memorable Spring Break to me -- even without "spring" making an appearance.
