This fall at our church we are having a pumpkin sale. Instead of buying them we decided to plant them ourselves. There was a spot back in the field that the farmers dumped their manure last year. Bob plowed it up, then ran the disc through it. It was still pretty lumpy and rocky but we figured the pumpkins wouldn't care.
Tammy made 53 hills for these great pumpkins to grow on. And we put a few seeds in each one. Kylee of course supervised the whole operation.
Brian shoveled even some more manure on the piles. I sure hope it isn't too much for those little pumpkin seeds to handle.
Tada!!
I tried to take pictures of everyone but every time I got the camera Kylee had to make sure she was in front of the camera.
Getting even more of the "good" stuff.
One final pose in the pumpkin patch.
Oh no, one more.
A cold soda is what a person needs after all that hard work.
Here's the old beast of a tractor they used to work up the ground. (Mom, make sure you have Dad check out this picture.)
Then we got distracted when we found this big frog in what's left of our old pond. Now it is just a slimy green yuck.
Of course Kylee had to poke at him with a stick. When she did, he jumped away and I think Kylee jumped just as far.
Here's our old pond, or what's left of it. Do any of you remember swimming in this?

Very Cool! Can't wait to see the pumpkins. Should be an awesome fundraiser.
ReplyDeleteRemember when we had an old boat in that pond and we would float around on it?
ReplyDeleteI remember we used to try to ice scate on it in the winter. Didn't a cow get stuck in the muck once?
